It is with a heavy heart that we have to share the incredibly sad news regarding the wonderful Charles, one of our year 11 students, who was also about to join LBTS for year 12 this year.

Over the summer Charles was out with friends in Greenwich and it seems he accidentally fell into the Thames. Despite the efforts of several people to rescue him, it is likely that Charles has tragically drowned.

Charles was a treasured member of the LBTS community and we are all mourning this painful loss. We will remember Charles as the funny and caring boy who was loved by so many - both students and staff. In his spare time Charles loved cars and fixing them, and had dreams of one day having what he described as a “straight piped Audi RS38Y with a Capristo exhaust system”.

Charles will be incredibly sadly missed by all at LBTS and our thoughts and prayers go out to Charles’ family at this tragic time.
