Counselling Provision at LBTS

New Counselling Provision at LBTS and LBTS6

We are excited to announce the launch of a new counselling service at LBTS and LBTS6, starting in November 2024. We aim to offer immediate support within school, helping to address mental health needs in the face of growing waiting lists for external services such as CAMHS.

This service is available to all students from Year 7 to Year 13, offering a safe and confidential space for young people to discuss and address personal or emotional issues with a qualified person-centred therapist.

If your child is struggling with any of the following issues, this counselling service may be of benefit to them:

- Anxiety and stress

- Depression or low mood

- Family issues

- Relationship problems

- Grief and loss

- Self-esteem and confidence issues

- Bullying or peer pressure

- Academic pressures

Please note, there are some issues that may not be appropriate for this service, such as diagnosed severe mental health conditions, but this can be discussed.

Students can access 3 to 10 weekly sessions, each lasting 30–50 minutes, as part of this early intervention program aimed at supporting mental health and wellbeing. Referrals can be made by students themselves, parents, or teachers.
